Today we have had the exciting news the Exeter City Council is funding the River Companion project which will be an audio guided tour of a lesser frequented stretch of the river Exe. The River Companion is a collaboration between Emily Gregory and Hugh McCann and will be released for free on this website by late October, with more information to be announced nearer the time.
YOU ARE HERE is a new site-responsive performance, in which field recordings, interviews, and archival material are weaved into an audio-only performance taking place in the dark, and asking audience members to meditate upon the place they call home.
We are excited to be performing a 15-minute demo at Poplar Union, on the 28 September.
More information about the event can be found here.

Here you will be able to find information about all of our previous and upcoming projects, as well as our thoughts and musings around the issues and ideas our work surrounds.
A little bit about us: The Walking Collective is a collection of artists dedicated to making work that responds to the place they are working in. We create both live and digital work and are always aiming to present our audiences with a reflection of where they call home. We are specifically interested in creating meditative work that intervenes in the frantic pace of modern day life and encourages reflection and stillness. We are composed of theatre makers Hugh McCann, and Emily Gregory, and sonic artist Josh Barfoot.
